About Foundation for Blind Children

The Foundation for Blind Children was founded in 1952 by parents of blind children who wanted services for their blind children in Phoenix, instead of having to send them to the State Institution for the Blind in Tucson.  Today, the Foundation for Blind Children (FBC) proudly serves over 2,000 people of all ages, from newborns to seniors over 100. As Arizona’s only agency of its kind, FBC has become a lifeline for the blind and visually impaired community, offering vital resources, guidance, and hope.

With three Valley locations (East Valley, West Valley and Central Phoenix), we strive to serve as “the” community’s resource for blind, visually impaired, and multi-handicapped children, adults, and their families.

At FBC, we believe vision loss is not a limitation but an opportunity to approach life differently. Our mission is to empower every individual, from infants in our Early Childhood Program to young students and adults, providing tools, support, and encouragement every step of the way. Together, let’s dream big, aim high, and create the path forward, because at FBC, nothing is impossible.
