About the Children's Museum of Phoenix

As one of the top children’s museums in the country, the Children’s Museum of Phoenix is a wondrous place place of imagination, inspiration, creativity, and just plain fun! The Museum’s mission is to engage the minds, muscles and imaginations of children and the grown-ups who care about them. This is not your typical Museum. The Children's Museum of Phoenix is a place where children play to learn, and grown-ups learn to play. The many developmental stages of a child - social, cognitive, physical, and emotional - have all been considered in the design of our exhibits and programs. This is an environment in which children can actively play and learn, taking risks when stakes are low, learning about themselves, the world, and the people around them.

Throughout the three floors of the Historic Monroe School Building, over 300 play experiences for ages birth to 10 are specifically designed to promote early childhood development and school-readiness. From building Thing-A-Ma-Jigs with everyday materials in the Art Studio to dressing up as firefighters or princesses in Drama Rama to learning how to make your favorite snack in the KIDchen to exploring the winding branches of the three-story Climber, all of the interactive exhibit spaces exquisitely immerse and inspire visitors at all developmental stages. In the classrooms, programs include a wide range of themes like Awakening Creativity, yoga, camps, etc.
