Package #4: Mer Bleue XII by Adrienne Wannamaker

Adrienne Wannamaker’s Blue Series is a meditative exploration of stillness, memory and movement. Layered in moody, dreamlike hues, these pieces
evoke ocean depths, open skies and the quiet spaces in between.

Adrienne paints what most people miss; every curve, crack and contour is a language that translates to layered landscapes only her brush can tell.

Arches carved into ancient stone, winding alleyways in Rome, the sharp contrast of a steel beam cutting through the sky — these forms speak to her, murmuring design and possibility. Her journey began in the 1980s as a Portland native with a sketchbook tucked under one arm, studying abroad in Italy.

That early immersion sparked a lifelong dialogue between Adrienne and the environments she explored. From the textured cliffs of the Amalfi Coast to the everyday geometry of our aerial landscape, she finds grace in the imperfect and symmetry in the unexpected. For Adrienne, travel is both an adventure and a study.

Now based in Scottsdale, she brings these impressions into the studio. Her work is a conversation between place, memory and material. Shapes emerge and retreat
through 20 to 30 layers of translucent and opaque acrylics. Each stroke culminates in a double-resin pour that seals the emotion — and the dreamscape — into place.
